Senior Software Developer
General Description:
Seeking a professional and versatile Software Engineer to work for a dynamic, fast-paced software company in
Matthews, NC. PokerTek develops and produces automated table games and systems for use in the casino
gaming industry.
The ideal candidate for this position will participate in development of PokerTek’s automated table game system,
taking a senior role in design and implementation in a Microsoft Windows/SQL Server client/server environment.
He or she should be a motivated, self-starting professional capable of understanding complex systems and
contributing to all aspects of system development.
Responsibilities include:
• Understanding existing product architecture
• Working with Product Management to understand and document product enhancements
• Developing client applications and components in C# WinForms
• Developing server components in C#
• Developing client applications using XNA and DirectX
• Developing database components in SQL Server 2000 T-SQL
• Developing unit and system tests
• Producing development, release and how-to documentation
• Defining specific goals and milestones for development efforts
• Communicating the status and progress of development
Qualifications:
The qualified candidate must possess the following skills:
• At least 5 years of Client/Server development experience on the Microsoft platform
• Development with C# in a .Net environment
• Experience with DirectX and XNA Game Studio
• SQL Server 2000/2008 development including T-SQL
• Experience with Windows XP and 2003, Active Directory and Windows Services
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a positive attitude
• The ability to teach and mentor other developers
• Must work extremely well in a team environment, as well as be able to work effectively on your own
• Preferably, the applicant will have an interest in and an understanding of the casino gaming industry
Education Requirements:
BS degree or equivalent work experience
